  4. Awesome job 8am group.
I think Pebbles came up with a whole new fitness concept that will rival Billy Blanks’ Tae Bo. It should be called CrossDance incorporating ridiculous dance moves with maybe a burpee or two thrown in. If all else fails you could do the Safety Dance.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at Wild Bill’s for Hicky’s fight.

  5. Candidate Blair says

    Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen!!!
Just wanted to drop in and give a quick hello. Just finished up Week 5 of 10 weeks of training, and I must say this is the most challenging thing that I have ever done in my life. No sleep, lots of class, lots of field time, lots of drill, lots of schedule changes, and of course lots of PT.
Overall, I feel like I am doing fairly well and so far I can attribute most of that to my training back at North Fulton. The PT is all functional and we spend a lot of time doing fartlek courses, and body weight exercises. So far not a single event has left me sore or exhausted except for the recent 6 mile hike. The PT is challenging, but definetely doable. Austin would kick some butt and take names on the PT here.
The hardest part is just dealing with fatigue. Sleep is very little and when added to all the physical events and movement it is very easy to get side tracked if you are not completely focused. Therefore, most of my liberty is spent sleeping and eating. During the week I probably consume 3k to 5k calories a day and have gained 3 pounds, but have definitely lowered my body fat.
Big Ed, I pulled out a freakin 19:38 on the intermediate PFT today, and you were right about that being the run time to be in.
Hope everyone is doing well, and sorry for any mispellings or grammar errors. I am about to head back to OCS for “firewatch” duty for 3 hours in the middle of my liberty. Hopefully, I can share more of the details after graduation (fingers crossed). Semper Fidelis and I KNOW I could not have made it this far without the excellent training and support. – BLAIR

  7. Great to hear from you candidate! In 5 weeks you will no longer be the lowest life form known to man, but a United States Marine! Oo-f*******-rah!
Be sure to stretch your shins every night to help prevent shin splints.
Austin will be going thru the Army Officer’s Course in January.
    Semper Fidelis, Ed.
p.s. brother, keep the faith on Monday.
Fred and I can’t wait to see you wearing the eagle, globe and anchor!
